Our Services

ABS offers abrasive blasting services to manufacturers, fabricators and commercial accounts.  We have over 20 years of experience providing professional blasting services and achieving the right finish for the project at hand.  With a very large blasting room (30 ft x 15 ft x 10 ft), we specialize in large objects that do not fit inside a small blast cabinet.  Most manufacturers, fabricators and rebuilders don’t have the ability to blast large fabricated products that require a glass-bead-blasted finish or a particular mil profile for a coating application; that’s where we fit in.  We are uniquely positioned to be a step in your production process, between fabrication and assembly/paint application.  We have a forklift on site, and can handle objects up to 1500 lbs.

We support manufacturers in the following industries:
Food Processing
Aerospace
Marine
Automotive
Scientific
Power Plant/Energy
And many more!

We only blast at our state-of-the-art facility in Salem, MA.  We DO NOT do any off-site blasting.

The Mil Profile

A mil is a thousandth of an inch.  We can achieve the desired mil profile on a surface (usually somewhere between 1-4) with a range of abrasive grits and blasting techniques.  There are many variables in the blasting process: the abrasive material, the abrasive grit, the hardness of the material being blasted, the blasting angle, the blasting pressure, and the level of corrosion or mill scale.  Depending on the desired mil profile, we will determine the best abrasive solution for your product.  we are happy to blast a sample to ensure that we can execute the best surface prep or surface cleaning for your job.
